Quick and easy and so delicious served with fresh salad
Ingredients
200 g macaroni
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
350 g ready-made carbonara or white lasagna sauce
50 g sun-dried tomatoes, drain and chopped
120 g wafer thin ham, sliced
1 teaspoon English mustard powder
50 ml double cream
2 tablespoon snipped chives
200 g mozzarella cheese, grated
salt & pepper, to taste
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 160°C Fan / Gas Mark 4. Cook the macaroni in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water for 12 minutes or until tender, then drain well.
2. While macaroni is cooking, fry the onion for around 4 minutes, adding the garlic in the last 30 seconds or so. Add the sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, ham, mustard powder, double cream, and half of the chives and cheese. Add the salt and pepper and season to taste.
3. Place in a large ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the remaining cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Garnish with the remaining chives and serve.
Tip
If the carbonara sauce you are using has ham in it you don't need to add the extra, or you can remove it altogether if you'd like!
